The Quad turned 100 years old on Saturday, Nov. 12 and students came out to celebrate in full force. Thanks to the hard work of various House Presidents, including King HP Ainsley Chrystal ’23, Comstock HP Magdalena Deniz ’23 and Emerson HP and House Presidents’ Association Chair Bailey Streeter ’23.
The party had all the trappings of your average birthday: cake, candles, party hats, and, of course, people singing “Happy Birthday” off-key.
Current Smithies were not the only ones taking part in the party. Jane Morrison AC ’88 came back as a caricature artist to draw current students.
Not only did party-goers commemorate the event with photos of all forms (from polaroids to selfies), but people also made their own buttons, showing house, quad and Smith pride.
