Young was awarded Athlete of the Week due to her outstanding work this season. This past weekend at the 45th Codfish Bowl, Smith Cross-Country took home third place. Young, captain of the Pioneers, placed thirteenth in the 5K race, finishing in just 19 minutes and 42 seconds. In the Smith Invitational, Young came in 20th, leading her team to place fifth in the event. Come watch Young and the rest of the team race in the Open New England Championships at Boston’s Franklin Park on Oct. 12.
