Our current athlete of the week is basketball player Lauren Weston ’15. Weston is one of two seniors and captains on the team this year. Weston’s 16-point effort on Feb. 7 against Worcester Polytechnic Institute helped lead the Pioneers to a conference win over the Engineers. Weston added an 11-point performance on Feb.11 in Smith’s loss to Trinity College. We sat down with Lauren and asked her a few questions.
Do you have any pregame rituals?
I listen to sappy love songs before every game and mess up my hair as much as possible.
Do you have any special pregame snacks?
No snacks, but I chew fruity gum every practice and every game.
What is your favorite movie?
“A Few Good Men.”
What is your favorite memory of the season so far?
Playing Wellesley at home and taking them by surprise with the win and my first real game back from my knee injury.
What is your favorite place to study on campus?
I like to study in Ford Hall, the Design Clinic lab, specifically.
What is one fun fact about the basketball team that nobody knows?
We have team snack the night before almost every game (usually Oreos and milk) and play slamwich with a deck of cards.
