This week’s athlete of the week is Smith soccer team’s forward, Jordan Houston ’16. The junior has an impressive track record. She scored a goal in the team’s win over Elms College on Sept. 17. She scored the first goal of the match 2:43 into the game. Houston converted two big-time goals in the team’s first NEWMAC game against Clark University. She got the Pioneers on the board just under 20 minutes into the match when she converted on a penalty kick. Then, with 17 minutes remaining in the game, she scored her second goal of the game and fourth goal of the season.
We sat down with Houston and asked her a few questions:
What is your favorite pre-game snack?
Dried mango slices (the sugared kind, of course).
Do you have any pre-game rituals?

What is your favorite memory of the season so far?

What are your personal and team goals for the season?
My personal goals are to stay on par with my individual statistics from last season, and exceed if possible. Team goals are definitely making it to the tournament at the end of the season, and then winning.
Any fun facts about the soccer team that not many people know?
